This past week, we took several days to put in some much needed work on system-installer. We’ve given it a massive UI overhaul, making it easier to control and work through it. We also added keyboard layout support, adding a necessary feature that was long overdue.
Furthermore, we also expanded our advanced options post-installation. Now, once you install Drauger OS, you can obtain a terminal with access to the newly installed system, wipe the newly installed system from your drive, or add PPAs to it (this still has bugs to be worked out).
We are going to be working on ironing out any bugs in the coming week and hope to get the newly revamped system-installer ready to go by the end of next week.
After that, we might be bringing a similar revamp to other apps in our GitHub. Time and work on other things remains to tell.
For now, we are a little behind our initial goal to meet Drauger OS 7.5.1 Alpha 3 by the end of 2019, so we pushed the deadline back by a month in order to give us some more time. You can actually see this new deadline on our roadmap on Trello. But, there is still time to possibly meet the initial deadline of January 1st, 2020. So, stay tuned to see where we go in the next month!
On a side note, next week there will not be any blog post or podcast episode due to the Christmas holiday.
